My current favourites

Book of Boba Fett

The critics have been a little harsh on this one, but I'm loving it. Great to see more of Return of the Jedi, including some creepy Hutts.

Cobra Kai

This brings back the original cast of Karate Kid (minus Pat Morita of course) and shows us what they're up to 35 years later.

Brilliant show, which pays homage to the original movies, but keeps an identity of its own.

It's delightful seeing which character from the movies turns up next.

Sadly though, it looks like one villain may not make it into the show: the psychotic Dutch, played by Steve McQueen's son, Chad.

Dr Who

What a great comeback and some great doctors, making up for the poor performances of doctors 6, 7 and 8. (although it will be a cold day in hell before I acknowledge Paul McGann as doctor number 8) David Tennant is by far the best new doctor in the new era, portraying a very similar role to that of the greatest doctor of them all, Tom Baker. May this show continue for another 50 years.

The Mandalorian

This is a must see for Star Wars fans.

Set a few years after "The Return of the Jedi", it takes us back to Tatooine where we get plenty of Jawas and Tuskin Raiders. Plenty of salutes to the original movies, plus appearances by well known Star Wars characters.

I love it.

Obi Wan

Give me more Star Wars! Thanks! This tells us the story of what happened after Obi Wan went to Tatooine to lie low.

It shows us the relationship he developed with a young Princess Leia and FINALLY brings us back Darth Vader big time!

The Simpsons

Still great after all these years. Hard to believe it was over 30 years ago that I first donned that “I’m Bart Simpson, who the Hell are you?” T-shirt and got dirty looks from some of the old fuddy duddies back then.

Squid Game

This is an awesome TV show made in Korea with English dubbing (so you don't have to read it!). A heap of cash starved people, enter a competition where they have to compete in kid's games, but these games have horrific consequences if you lose.

Well developed characters who you can root for, all facing moral dilemmas every step of the way. Lots of tension, and many surprises. Almost every time I predicted an outcome, I was wrong.

Survivor

I don’t care if you hate reality TV. I love it and Survivor is still my personal favourite. I love the conflict between the participants, which keeps this show fresh

The Walking Dead

FINALLY a TV show about zombies and staying true to George A Romero’s classic zombie tales. May this show keep going for many years! Just a pity that Rick is such a dumb ass! Oh and I’d really like to tell all the characters in that show. “They are called zombies! ZOMBIES! That’s what everyone in the world have been calling them now for decades!”
